Our Story
We have seen God's faithfulness in our relationship. He has much better timing than either of us could have imagined and surrounded us with loving family and friends. He has allowed two imperfect people to come together to love and honour one another while seeking first the Kingdom of God for the rest of their days.
January 2024 – Started talking while Riley was away in the Netherlands. Lots of long messages back and forth until we met up in person at The Leaf for the first time
February 14th 2024 – Riley and Nicola officially start dating after a long conversation at an Ethiopian restaurant. What a great decision!
Many date nights included Riley learning the intricacies of Medicine and Health
May 2024 - Riley comes home from a 3 week work trip.
Spring is here, Riley and Nicola start having dates outdoors!
Nicola successfully completing her first year in Medicine!
Nicola is in Hodgson for a week long practicum. Riley visits and they go for a picnic at Hecla Provincial Park
June 2024 - It's summer! And the month of both Riley and Nicola's birthdays. Here Nicola and Riley are watching Midsummernights Dream at Shakespeare in the ruins
August 2024 - To celebrate the end of summer and 6 months of dating, Riley planned an elaborate scavenger hunt for Nicola re-visiting places that were special to them.
Taking full advantage of the last of the nice weather in fall
October 2024 - What great timing! Nicola and Riley flew to Montreal to meet up with her old roommates. Perfect day for a 10hour layover on Riley's way to the Netherlands!
December 8, 2024 - Riley flew home four days early and surprised Nicola at her door with flowers! He then whisked her away to Riding Mountain where he proposed in an Otentik he had decorated. She gave her enthusiastic "yes" and the rest is history!
